GLAP Alumini

When I just started hunting for jobs, I was at my lowest. I had thought that I was expected to work in a foreign company due to my international background, having experiences of spending eight years abroad and studying in a diverse environment in college. I put myself under pressure with the imprecise thought, and I gradually lost motivation, failing to find a purpose to keep going. After months of struggling, my job-hunting agent suggested me to apply to Dyson. Throughout the applying process, I reflected on my life-things I have felt proud of and ways I have found to express myself with-and I realized that my four years in GLAP have shaped my values significantly. Luckily, my thoughts corresponded with one of the questions in the entry sheet, asking what it means to have a “growth mindset”. I wrote about what I have discovered throughout my years in GLAP, and it was highly evaluated by the interviewers. It was the first time I felt like I was accepted for who I am, and it was the first time I felt like I finally found the place I was looking for a long time. My experience in the GLAP have given me confidence, courage, and the opportunity to make myself grow. I am hopeful that I will continue to use the experience as a springboard to thrive in my future career.
